This year’s seasonal coffee is a crafted blend of Kenya (washed), Peru (natural), and a Rwanda (natural), creating a flavor profile of “sugar, spice and everything nice!” It’s a delightful, everyday coffee that can be enjoyed by connoisseurs and cream-and-sugar drinkers alike! The Kenyan creates a sweet citrus base for this coffee to stand on, like a dried tangerine crusted with raw sugar. The acidity is just right for a bright, clean cup of holiday cheer! The Peru and Rwanda play well together making the notes of chocolate covered berries hard to miss. A seasonal hint of warm spiced plums cuts through on the finish.  The cup profile changes as it cools, bringing to light more notes of red berries with a bittersweet punchiness and cocoa powder dusting on the finish. There’s so much to unpack here. Throughout this cup I’m getting notes of candied tangerine, chocolate berries, spiced plums, cranberry sauce, fig jam, raw sugars, molasses and dare I add some wild cards: strawberry milk powder and chocolate covered açaí!
